ABOUT US

Greater Works Chapel International (GWCI)

Who We Are

GWCI is a multicultural, multiracial, pentecostal and charismatic church which seeks to preach nothing but the kingdom of God in its totality.

The name of the church was derived from John 14: 12, the scripture which says,

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works I do he will do also and GREATER WORKS than these he will do because I go to My Father.

Jesus said this to show us that the only thing that will attract the unbelievers to God’s house is when believers preach the gospel of the Kingdom and demonstrate the power of His Kingdom.

The Kingdom of God is not in words but in power.

1 Corinthians 4:20

In John 15:16 the scripture says,

You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

Fulfilling this mandate, we only ask the Father to give us the heathen as our inheritance and the utmost part of the earth as our possession and to show forth His power by healing the sick, setting the captives free, and restoring the sight of the blind and reconcile our world. These will be our fruits and it will remain to the glory of God. Amen.

We are a church that believes salvation is for all men in that God sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to come to our sinful world to come and die for us. John 3:16. It was not easy but it was worth it. A King who left His throne and glory, came on earth in a form of a man to feel the pain we go through everyday yet without sin.

The mandate of the church is to raise and empower a generation that will fully understand the concept of God’s Kingdom and to live and demonstrate Kingdom life on earth.

Leadership

Crucial to the development of any form of organization, we will see to strengthen the ministry’s leadership structure to more efficiently serve and meet the needs of the people of God in our community. So the church might honour God and operate smoothly. Institutions will be built to train leaders to handle the task.

Purpose

The purpose of Greater Works Chapel International is to make followers of Jesus Christ through witnessing, praying and Kingdom business ventures and restoring divine identity, purpose on earth, bringing out potential in them

The Philosophy of Our Programs

  • We shall provide and maintain a facility for public worship services.
  • To promote the corporate worship of God, Christian training, missions support (both financially and in prayer), and fellowship, we conduct a program of regular worship services on Sundays. We seek to conduct worship services in a balanced manner that includes Christian music, offerings, prayer, and preaching from the Bible, all in ways that are neither extremely formal nor totally informal.
  • An integral part of our church is the support of missions. This is achieved by financial support that is regularly distributed to selected missionaries, both within the United Kingdom and abroad. Prayer support is also encouraged and visits from supported missionaries are special occasions. Reports and prayer requests from missionaries are often included in Sunday morning worship service bulletins.
  • We also include a Sunday School program that is conducted on Sunday mornings, generally prior to the regular Sunday morning worship service. The Sunday school is intended to provide training to those who attend and is an area of needed growth.
  • We seek to periodically offer Bible studies in a home environment to encourage Christian growth and opportunities to invite others who may not attend regular church services.
  • We support an evangelistic outreach program through in home group bible study by inviting friends, neighbours and church visitors.
  • We seek to develop and utilize programs as God leads to build GWCI; at the same time we seek to be careful not to slip into a mode of assuming that multiple, well-conducted programs are necessary to achieve the ministry that God wants.

Our Belief

  • We believe
The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written word of God (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:19-21).
  • We believe
There is only one God, eternally existent in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
  • We believe
In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in his virgin birth, in his sinless life, in his miracles, in his vicarious (substitutionary) and atoning death, in his bodily resurrection, in his ascension to the right hand of the Father, in his personal future return to earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years.
  • We believe
In the blessed hope the rapture of the church at Christ’s coming (1 Thessalonians 4:17); in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation (Daniel 12:2; John 11:25-26; The Revelation 21:7-8).
  • We believe
The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ (Ephesians 1:7).
  • We believe
Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation (John 1:13; 3:3; 1 Peter 1:23).
  • We believe
In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:16; 5:25).
  • We believe
The baptism of the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4 is given to believers who ask with speaking in other tongues being one of the evidences (Luke 11:13).
  • We believe
In the present day reality of the supernatural operation of the gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:8-10; Hebrews 2:3-4).
  • We believe
The redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:17).
  • We believe
In the observance of the ordinances of Christian baptism by immersion for believers and the Lords Supper (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
